Nuclear financing: Bpifrance Assurance Export participates in the FINABe international advisory committee
At the 2nd Nuclear Energy Summit on March 10, 2026, Bpifrance Assurance Export took part in the work of the FINABe (Financing and Investing in Nuclear – Advisory Board EDF) advisory committee, an international initiative aimed at promoting the financing of civil nuclear projects for export.
Launched at the initiative of EDF, this committee brings together leading players from the finance and industry sectors to strengthen dialogue between stakeholders and contribute to the emergence of financing solutions adapted to the specificities of nuclear projects.
Funding: A key issue for the development of nuclear power
In the context of a global energy transition, nuclear power is an essential component of low-carbon energy strategies, particularly to address the challenges of security of supply and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
However, the development of new nuclear projects internationally relies on complex financial arrangements, mobilizing long-term horizons and requiring the coordinated involvement of public and private actors.
FINABe's mission is to:
- to encourage exchanges between financing stakeholders;
- analyze the specific constraints on the financing of nuclear projects;
- to propose concrete solutions to facilitate investment in this sector
- supporting the development and deployment of international nuclear projects
A commitment to serving the French nuclear industry internationally
Bpifrance Assurance Export's participation in FINABe is fully in line with its mission to support French companies engaged in international markets, particularly in strategic industrial and energy sectors.
By contributing to this initiative, Bpifrance Assurance Export affirms its role as a public player in export financing and its desire to participate in structuring financial frameworks favorable to the development of nuclear projects, serving the competitiveness of the French sector and the global energy transition.
