Commercial contract insurance
Secure the execution/completion and/or cash payments or supplier credit of the export/commercial contract, and cover the surety commitments
The Benefits of Commercial Contract Insurance
For the exporter
Tailor-made insurance corresponding to your risk assessment which allows you to:
- Secure your expenses
- And/or secure your receivables from your foreign debtor, regardless of the payment terms.
- Facilitate the discounting or assignment of supplier credit by a bank
Our Commercial Contract Insurance solution
The essentials to know
Commercial Contract Insurance covers your commercial contract during the execution and post-execution period as well as your surety commitments callable on first demand by your buyer.
Various types of insurance
You have the option to choose a single cover or combine them according to your needs:
During the contract execution period
- Coverage of contract interruption based on losses incurred within the limit of a ceiling defined by the upstream exporter (turnkey standard contract)
- Coverage for non-payment of a range of receivables due during the execution of the contract (standard contract for the supply of equipment with non-guaranteed terms)
Possibility of combining it with our other credit insurance coverage (excluding enhanced guarantee and GPI).
Existence of suitable revolving insurance to the provision of services and intangible goods.
In the post-execution period*
*after the end of contractual obligations
- Coverage against non-payment of payment terms due at the end of contractual obligations
- Coverage against non-payment of supplier credit repayment installments. This allows competitive payment terms to be offered to the buyer and encourages the discounting or assignment of supplier credit to a bank.
Coverage of surety commitments*
*excluding bid deposit
Surety commitments can be covered throughout the risk period in the event of an abusive call (period of execution of the commercial contract and/or post-execution period).
Possibility of being covered under the sole guarantee commitments (except deposit refund deposit).

Subscription and management of your contract
The credit insurance application must be made to a business manager or directly online. After analysis of the application and risk assessment by our services, the operation is presented for decision, either to an internal committee within the framework of the delegations granted by the State to Bpifrance Assurance Export, or to the Interministerial Commission chaired by the DG Trésor (Commission for Guarantees and Foreign Trade Credit) to decide, on a case-by-case basis, on the conditions of the guarantee promise to be issued.
Bpifrance Assurance Export sends the credit insurance application forms to the members of the Guarantee Commission 10 working days before the date of the said Commission. The Guarantee Commission meets every two weeks on Thursdays for civil matters (see the 15 calendar).
A guarantee promise is then issued (General Conditions of the Guarantee) and can be extended until the contractual documentation is signed. The validity period of the guarantee promises is 6 months. Once the commercial contract is signed and all the required conditions are met, the policy can be issued to the insured concerned, entitling the insured to invoice the premium.
