Export Pre-Financing Insurance FAQ

A study is first conducted with the company on its export projects and its financial situation. At the end of this study, the exporter receives an agreement in principle from Bpifrance Assurance Export indicating the conditions under which Export Pre-financing Insurance can be set up. Thanks to this document, the exporter can negotiate with its banking partners the conditions for setting up the pre-financing credit it needs. It designates the bank of its choice by initiating the approval request.
It is up to the lending bank to request the implementation of Export Pre-financing Insurance. It must send the Guarantee-Pre-financing department the Approval Request form, signed by itself (the lending bank) and the beneficiary of the credit (the exporter). There are prerequisites: The lending bank must have signed the framework agreement with Bpifrance Assurance Export. The exporter must have received an agreement in principle or envelope for Export Pre-financing Insurance requested from Bpifrance online Client. The cash flow forecast justifying the pre-financing credit must be attached to the request.
They are calculated on the basis of the cash flow forecast established by the exporter: the duration will correspond to the months during which the cash flow required to execute the contract will show a negative balance and the maximum amount will correspond to the peak requirement. The bank must ensure that the amounts made available to the company will be in strict compliance with the needs of the cash flow forecast (initial or updated).
Yes, based on the explanations provided by the exporter, the credit can be extended in the event of a delay in its execution. The insured bank must submit any extension request accompanied by an updated cash flow forecast before the credit expires.
The insured bank has the option of taking into account all changes that may occur during the execution of the contract, provided that they do not result in an extension of the credit term or an exceeding of the peak cash requirement. The bank will have to collect an updated cash flow forecast for each change, with the funds made available always having to be in line with the cash flow forecast at its disposal.
Yes, the insured bank can request the closure of the approval before the loan expires via its Bpifrance Online Partner access. It can also inform Bpifrance Assurance Export of an early repayment of the loan by sending an email to: assurance-export-prefi@bpifrance.fr
